The Mary D. Davis photographs were recently digitized and are now available online. Davis graduated from Appalachian State Teachers College in 1942. Her collection contains eleven photographs, dated 1941-1942, that relate to ASTC and the Town of Boone. Subjects include Appalachian students, the campus, and a snow storm. Downtown storefront entrances featured are Dixie Stores and Watauga Hotel and Café. Downtown storefronts photographed include Farmers Hardware and the bank located next door. There is also a photograph of the Daniel Boone Hotel directional sign.
